COLUMBUS, GA - The Department of Transportation will be doing some utility work on SR 1 near the 14th St. bridge next week.

Work will go form 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, Dec. 10 to Friday, Dec. 14.

COLUMBUS, GA - Columbus is the site of a new used car dealership located downtown.

J.D. Byrider has opened at 1426 Veterans Parkway with a 6,500 square foot location with used cars, four service bays, financing, free oil changes for the duration of a loan and a customer service center.

The new store is the fifth dealership in Georgia.

Crash kills motorcycle driver entering Columbus

PHENIX CITY, AL - Officials say a man on a motorcycle was on the bridge on Highway 80 coming from Phenix City to Columbus when he swerved to avoid a stick in the road near the 2nd Ave. exit.

He lost control of the motorcycle, ran off the road and hit a tree.

COLUMBUS, GA - I-185 will have lane closures for the next week on both north and southbound lanes at St. Mary's Road and Macon Road overpasses.

The work will start at 9 pm and last until 5 pm nightly from Wednesday, April 11 through Wednesday, April 18, weather permitting.

COLUMBUS, GA - You can get your oil changed tomorrow, March 21 and all of your money will go to benefit PAWS Humane.

Both Columbus-area Epperly Tire locations will continue their Changing Oil Changing Lives event by donating 100% of the oil change proceeds to PAWS Humane. PAWS will also be conducting mobile adoptions.

COLUMBUS, GA - Emanuel Jones, owner of Legacy Chevrolet Cadillac of Columbus, recently announced that he will be continuing the Legacy Spokesperson contest started last year. The winner will serve as the Legacy Chevrolet spokesperson for one year, appearing in print, television and radio commercials.

“I have always been a supporter of higher education and continue to look for ways to help our youth with the challenges associated with funding their education,” said Mr. Jones. “Our outgoing spokespersons (Cassie Lee and Jasmine Jones) have enjoyed the experience associated with appearing in our commercials over the past year.”
