Whitewater Rafting cleans up on the river | News
COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- Whitewater clean-up on the
Chattahoochee River brought out several onlookers on this Columbus Day.
People enjoying time off
from work today seemed to be mesmerized by the view from the 14th Street Bridge.
They saw a bulldozer removing debris, tree limbs and rocks from below the
Uptown Columbus director Richard
Bishop says the cleanup was planned as the peak season for rafting comes to an
end. The rapids, however, will remain open year-round.
They also told us they
expect about 17,000 customers to participate in whitewater rafting by the end
of the month.
