“Let’s Talk!...with the Mayor” coming up on June 13

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- The next "Let's Talk!...with the Mayor" will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday June 13, 2013 at Liberty Baptist Church located at 934 Valley Forge Road.

The purpose of the forum is to provide a current status of the city, as well as provide an opportunity for citizens to come together and discuss their concerns. These forums are held in conjunction with community partners, such as civic groups and neighborhood associations.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and the Law Enforcement Torch Run ® are teaming up for the 13th year to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Athletes in Georgia.

Law Enforcement Torch Run ® Deputies from the Muscogee County Marshal’s Office and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office will take to the roof of the Krispy Kreme retail shop located at 6761 Veterans Parkway on Saturday June 15 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. as they collect donations from customers.  The public is invited to come out and enjoy the fun!

Epperly Tire to donate 100% proceeds from June 26 oil changes to PAWS Humane

On June 26, all three Columbus-area Epperly Tire locations will continue their Changing Oil Changing Lives event by donating 100% of the oil change proceeds to PAWS Humane. PAWS will also be conducting mobile adoptions.

“Changing Oil Changing Lives is our way of saying thank you to great organizations in the community, like PAWS Humane,” said Epperly Tire owner, David Epperly. “PAWS does so much to raise awareness of animals’ needs in our community that we are happy to give back through this event.”

The Folk-rock band Bethesda has launched  'The Reunion' Summer Tour to celebrate the release of their sophomore album “The Reunion”. They are excited to be making their way to Columbus for a free show at The Loft on Wednesday, June 26 at 8 p.m.

The Chick-fil-A® restaurants in the Columbus-Phenix City Area will host a “Date Night” for fathers and daughters on Saturday, June 8 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

During this special evening, fathers and daughters are encouraged to spend some time together while they enjoy dinner, great conversation and several activities.

Uptown Drum Circle to host event on Broadway Avenue

The Uptown Drum Circle is hosting an event this Saturday, June 1 from 6 p.m. to 9p.m. on Broadway Avenue in Columbus. 

The event will be family-friendly with a kids corner that features face painting, temporary tattoos, temporary colored hairspray, and lip-shaped noise makers.  Other activities include mucisians, local goods and services raffle, a yoga demo by Art of Yoga Studio, belly and fire dance demo with jingly hip scarves available for purchase, and a re-purposed art exhibition and auction.
