Gas station thief strikes cashier with wine bottle | Crime

COLUMBUS, GA - A thief used a gas station wine bottle to hit the cashier then rob the business early Wednesday morning.

Police say an unknown man walked into the Summit gas station at 1500 Veteran's Parkway around 5 a.m. on Jan. 16 and grabbed a wine bottle off a shelf.

He then hit the cashier on the back of the head with the bottle. She was the only other person in the business.

The suspect took her cell phone and purse and fled on foot. He also took an unknown amount of money from the cash registers.

The clerk sustained minor injuries and was treated by EMS.
